  • Q: How do I apply for the position as the foreign expert?

    A:

    1. Check the websites of Office of Human Resources as well as every school/department to learn the information about the recruitment of foreign experts;
    2. Contact the school/department for the application for the position;
    3. When you are accepted by the school/department after the discussion by the academic committee, the corresponding school/department will report it to the Office of International Relations and process the following procedures.

  • Q: What need I do after accepted by the school/department of Peking University?

    A:

    For the short-term foreign expert who will stay in China less than 3 months:
    1. Apply for the visa with the Visa Notice sent by the host school/department;
    2. The accommodation, monthly stipend, teaching, touring, transportation and so on will be
    arranged by the host school/department according to its conditions.
    For the long-term foreign expert who will stay in China more than 3 months:
    1. For those who apply for the F visa
      a. Apply for the visa with the Visa Notice sent by the host school/department
      b. If you want extend your stay at Peking University, please fulfill the Visa and Residence
      Permit Application Form two weeks in advance and return it to Office of International Relations. After getting approval by Office of International Relations, please go to the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau for the further procedures.
    2. For those who apply for the Z visa
      a. Provide the copy of the contract, the copy of the passport, the copy of the diploma, and the resume to the host school/department;
      b. Apply for the Z visa with the Visa Notice and the Certificate of Foreign Experts sent by the host school/department.
      c. Go to the Chinese Embassy/Consulate to your country to get the Physical Examination Form. You can choose to take the physical exam either in your country or in China. If you do it in your country, please remember to bring the Form as well as the origins of the examination reports as required such as the serum.

  • Q: What need I do after arrival at Peking University?

    A:

    • Physical Examination: Please go to the Beijing Municipal Sanitation and Antiepidemic Station with your Physical Examination Form and the origins of the examination reports to get the authentication. If they are not qualified, you need to have the physical examination at theStation again;
    • Sign the formal contract with the host school/department;
    • Foreign Expert Card: The host school/department will help obtain the Foreign Expert Card after receiving your passport, the contract and one copy of it, one photo with the size of 1 inch (2 photos for the American scholar), insurance voucher and RMB 50.
    • Residence Permit: The host school/department will help obtain the Residence Permit after receiving your passport, the Foreign Expert Card, the Visa and Residence Permit Application Form, Physical Examination Form, 2 photos with the size of 2 inches, and accommodation certificate. If you have the accompanying relatives, please provide the documents to prove his/her identity and relationship with you.
    • ID Card: The host school/department will help obtain your ID Card after receiving one photo from you.
    • Library Card: The host school/department will help obtain the Library Card after getting your ID Card.

  • Q: How can I extend the Foreign Expert Card, Residence Permit and F visa?

    A:

    • For the Foreign Expert Card: The host school/department will help extend your Foreign Expert Card after receiving your Foreign Expert Card, insurance voucher and the new signed contract.
    • For the Residence Permit: The host school/department will help extend your Residence Permit after receiving your passport, the extended Foreign Expert Card, the valid Residence Permit, the Visa and Residence Permit Application Form, the new contract, the accommodation certificate and one photo. If you have the accompanying relatives, please provide the documents to prove his/her identity and relationship with you.
    • F visa: The host school/department will help extend your F visa after receiving your passport, the Visa and Residence Permit Application Form, one photo and the accommodation certificate. If you have the accompanying relatives, please provide the documents to prove his/her identity and relationship with you.
