  • Beijing Area Study. An annual survey in urban area Beijing started in 1995, co-sponsored by the RCCC and the Policy Research Office of the Beijing municipal government.
  • The World Values Survey (2007). A worldwide investigation of socio-cultural and political change that has carried out representative national surveys of the basic values and beliefs of publics in more than 65 societies on all six inhabited continents, containing almost 80 percent of the world's population. RCCC as the China partner of the WVS conducted the national survey in China for the 2007 wave.
  • Social Injustice in China (2004). A nation-wide survey research project with a probability sample of approximately 4,000, most advanced spatial sampling techniques applied.
  • Institutionalization of Legal Reforms in China (2003). A nation-wide survey research project with a probability sample of approximately 10,000, the spatial sampling techniques applied the first time to a national sample. Jointly sponsored by the RCCC and the CDP, partially funded by the Ford Foundation.
  • The World Values Survey (2000). RCCC as the China partner of the WVS conducted the national survey in China for the 2000 wave.
  • The World Mental Health Survey, China (1999-2000). A worldwide public health survey focusing on mental health, sponsored by the UN World Health Organization. RCCC was appointed as the implementing agency by WHO and China’s Ministry of Health to conduct the survey in China.
  • Hong Kong – Beijing Quality of Life Survey (1999). A comparative survey research project using standard social indicators to measure views of general publics in the two cities toward the quality of life issues.
  • Elite Awareness on Environmental Protection (1999). A nine-city survey on Chinese urban elites-- government officials and business leaders. Jointly funded by the Japan Foundation, the Smith Richardson Foundation, and the RCCC.
  • Public Awareness on Environmental Protection in China (1998). A national survey on general public, with a probability sample of the Chinese population on mainland (completed more than 9,000 interviews). Sponsored by the State Agency of Environment Protection and the Ministry of Education.
  • Local Government and Local Development (1997). A survey research project on local elites and masses in four Chinese counties, in collaboration with researchers from University of California at Santa Barbara, University of Michigan, and University of Rochester. It is a second wave (penal) of the survey conducted in 1990.
  • Political Participation in Beijing (1996). A survey research project on citizen participation, in collaboration with researchers from Duke University. Mainly Funded by the [American] National Science Foundation
